Pocket IE stuck open?

I've had a strange niggle that happens when I use PIE sometimes. Now, we know there is no way to quit PIE (bar back ad infinitum), but if I go back to the homescreen (using the homescreen button), then later (hours that is), use the back screen, it displays "news" in the title bar, but it does not go back to IE (which I don't want anway), but it's like PIE is still half loaded in memory.

Any ideas? We need a task manager!!!
