Guest p0rt Posted December 24, 2002 Report Posted December 24, 2002 Hi Peeps, a bit of a newbie question for you. Is it normal for the backlight on the screen to dim slightly after a few seconds, i know that the backlight times out after a certain for obvious reasons, but after accessing any menu item the backlight dims very slightly a few seconds later. Thanks Chris
Guest TheDon Posted December 24, 2002 Report Posted December 24, 2002 Mine does that aswell!! I think it's just a way of power saving :D
Guest p0rt Posted December 24, 2002 Report Posted December 24, 2002 Thought so, thanks for the reply :D
Guest zenabi Posted December 24, 2002 Report Posted December 24, 2002 I know I'm being picky, but I think it's actually a FRONTlight. Yes, the dimming thing is normal :D .
Guest tomdbomb61 Posted December 27, 2002 Report Posted December 27, 2002 me and my girlfriend both got SPVs for christmas in our stockings!!! however i was looking at them both yesterday and noticed tha her screen is brighter than mine. hers looks white wen viewed from the side where as mine looks like an off white dirty white colour. !!!!! why is this??? any clever person out there help??!?!
Guest Wizard Posted December 28, 2002 Report Posted December 28, 2002 I find most of the time that the backlight is way way too bright. I used it in the cinema yesterday to find my way to our seats - surely this is overkill? When the handset starts power saving and dims the backlight, that level of brightness is easily enough for using the phone is most conditions. Wizard
Guest Danlance Posted December 28, 2002 Report Posted December 28, 2002 Agreed - Should definately be customisable... If I want to use my phone in bed at night, when my baby son is asleep, I have to use it under the covers or else it wakes him up! Also, if I am driving down unlit country roads at night, and my wife is using the phone in the passenger seat, I find it very distracting - had to tell her not to a couple of times... It is handy as a backup torch tho :D
Guest simon.sp Posted December 28, 2002 Report Posted December 28, 2002 maybe this will be addressed in a software update?
