Text message length problem

Hi all

When entering a text on my old Nokia 7110, you knew when you had reached the text message length maximum as the phone had a handy counter.

The SPV however seems to allow you to type an infinate (or a lot at least) amount of characters. The problem with this is that the message recipient only gets the fisrt 160 characters of your message, so the rest is lost. Am I being thick or missing something?

The need for a character counter is one of the top features on the most wanted list and we hope this should be implemented along with the upcoming updates.

There isn't a limit to how many characters you can input because the SMS editor is also the Email editor. Regarding losing the end of your long messages, this should not happen. When you go over 160 charas it should send the rest in another SMS, so the recipient should receive 2 (or more) messages.

Having run a little check (ie inputting numbers and counting hwo many characters there are :D) as a rule of thumb, 160 is about 6 1/2 lines..
