Freeserve using SPV as modem

I connected up to freeserve as soon as possible after the UK update came out...and all has been fine until this weekend.

I cannot connect now and it gives me an error saying that the connection has been terminated at the remote computer.

I rang freeserve reactivation line to get me back on... they told me that i had never dialed in...to which i replied that i was using GPRS to connect on my SPV and dont use dialup.......

.....Deadly silence.........

"You will have to ring the support number on ...."... @ 50p a minute... :x

**** that!!

Anyone else have the same probs??? :?

Can you still dial in from your PC as normal?

Eh? Not sure what you are trying to do. Am I missing something? Either you are using Orange GPRS to connect to the Net (which has nothing to do with with Freeserve), or you are using Freeserve dial up (which has nothing to do with GPRS). I'm not surprised the Freeserve helpline couldn't help...

In order to get online using the SPV as a USB modem with a laptop...you have to set up a dialup connection and therefore an ISP is required....Orange have stopped theirs.

I have broadband at home so cannot use that ISP.

I setup a free PAYG freeserve account so i can access the net......

I can use Pocket IE on the spv so it isnt GPRS connection...

Do i not have to bother with Freeserve?...

OK got you. You mentioned GPRS in your original post which confused me.

Have you tried connecting to Freeserve from you laptop using a normal modem? The would help to see if it's a Feeserve or Orange/SPV problem.
