Guest Wlodek Posted December 26, 2002 Report Posted December 26, 2002 Dear All, Please, oh please enlighten me in the following matter. ActiveSync (3.6 delivered with the phone) synchronises very neatly Outlook Tasks, Calendar, Contacts and email, but only ever offered me to synchronise these. A very useful program called CodeWallet bundled with the phone (demo version) has its desktop brother with which it should communicate. My problem is that I cannot work out how to get it to do this. Help in CodeWallet sends me to look at AcyiveSync help. Apparently (according to the ActiveSync help files) when creating a phone/desktop partnership it should have created a special folder on both devices (desktop and phone) the contents of which would be synchronised. This is not the case here. In ActiveSync I only see the options for Outlook items and nothing else. Am I being daft  , doing something wrong  , or is the SPV 'special' in some way  ? Help? Best wishes, Wlodek
Guest Posted December 31, 2002 Report Posted December 31, 2002 This function is not supported yet. I find if you just copy the CodeWallet file to the PC, you can open/edit it in the desktop version, and then copy it back. Not so good I know. I queried this with DeveloperOne, and got the reply: > we ran into some issues with the sync module and should have that > back out within a few days. > I will be glad to send you this with the latest update to the desktop > edition as soon as that is ready, we're just testing final > functionality > now. > Hope this helps.
Guest stu.mcandrew Posted December 31, 2002 Report Posted December 31, 2002 Please excuse my newness, but how do you copy/backup files from the phone to PC? I am able to active sync just fine, and I have now installed ALL Explorer, code wallet, and list pro (but dont have desktop versions) - but I have to say that ALL explorer is all a bit confusing. I am scared to death of moving or deleting the wrong stuff after reading stuff on this forum, but I really need to know how to back up these applications considering the important data in them. cheers Stu
Guest Posted December 31, 2002 Report Posted December 31, 2002 Bit of a risk with this then, but here goes: 1 Copy your wallet file off the SPV onto the PC desktop - ActiveSync as normal - click the "Explore" button in the PC's ActiveSync window This opens an Explorer window into the SPV - Click on "My Smarphone" to go into the SPV file systems - Click on "IPSM" to go into the phone's memory - Click on "My Documents" to see your document store - Your wallet file should be visible, .wal (saved with the name you created your new wallet with - Click and drag this onto your PC desktop (or wherever else you want to save it) 2 Run the Desktop CodeWallet - Double-click the dektop .wal file - Do wahtever you want to do in the desktop 3 Save back to the SPV - Reverse the process at 1 to copy back to the SPV Please take appropriate copies along the way. Clearly, chance of getting things out of step here. But at least the files are compatible desktop to SPV. Hope this helps. Your risk, so be careful.
Guest Wlodek Posted January 1, 2003 Report Posted January 1, 2003 :D Hi All and very Happy New Year with your SPVs Thanks for all the replies, I am now manually 'syncing' the .wal file by dragging and dropping (old fashioned, but hey ...) All the best, Wlodek

You don't (at least if you hurry up), have a look there: http://www.developerone.com/newsletter/dec...odewalletupdate It says there: As part of our holiday special, purchase CodeWallet Pro for your Pocket PC or Smartphone and get the desktop companion edition for FREE! To take advantage of this offer, purchase your copy of CodeWallet Pro online and email your receipt (that you receive in your email) to [email protected], subject: "Holiday CodeWallet Offer". Offer valid for CodeWallet Pro purchases from December 15 2002 to Jan 2 2003. I must say I do like the product, have played with it a bit, and now can't wait till their Agenda Fusion becomes available for the SPV. Best of luck, W.
Guest yoos Posted April 17, 2003 Report Posted April 17, 2003 Any new news on this? I would like to get this product but prefer that it can sync via activesync without any problems. I don't want to have to move files back and forth... Thanks! By the way, this site is awesome!!!
