Guest boutros Posted December 26, 2002 Report Posted December 26, 2002 Evenin'... Don't know if this has been raised already, but it's pissed me off the last couple of days. I took my phone away for a few days, took the charger, but forgot the wee 'connecty' bit that enables the charger to connect. To cut a long story short... I turned off my phone at night to conserve battery... but my alarm is still set to go off in the morning. When I turn on my phone the alarm immediately goes off because it is after the time it was supposed to. Does anyone else think this is daft?! Either the phone should power up an set off the alarm or if it is turned off at the time the alarm was supposed to go off it shouldn't kick in as soon as it is turned on. It's stoopid! That's all I have to say.... expect... love the phone though... despite the flaws... and the inevitable costs.... please, orange, please... think about your customers not your profits!! Out.
Guest Wlodek Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 Phone should wake up on alarm or upcoming appointment. This is a reasonable behaviour and most PDAs (notably Palm to which I find I am more attached than I thought :D ) do that. I would classify this as a bug. Regards to All, Wlodek
Guest Nigel Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 I agree that this is a bug. I also had this bug with my (3rd.) Palm which needs resetting now and again. Surely Bill Gates can get someone to design a wake-up system - I really do not want to leave my phone on all night especially if I have to turn off the connection to Orange. Has anyone got an answer from anyone at Microsoft?
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted January 19, 2003 Report Posted January 19, 2003 Not a bug, but a wishlist really. Nokias don't do it? P
Guest Wlodek Posted January 19, 2003 Report Posted January 19, 2003 Nokias don't eat batteries like that so you aren't even tempted to turn them off. They are phones, unlike the SPV which is a computer with a phone. -- W.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted January 19, 2003 Report Posted January 19, 2003 Its a phone with a "computer", officially.
Guest Wlodek Posted January 19, 2003 Report Posted January 19, 2003 Oops, of course, that's why I bought it ...
