In all honesty the Tasks app is useless to me. It is so simple in its implementation that it's no use except where you only have a very small number of list items.

I have a couple of hundred task items in Outlook that are categorised, and many are marked as complete (but hidden from view). If I sync to the phone I can either sync only the incomplete ones, but the list is HUGE and not split by category, OR I can sync by only the categories. I really need but this fails too because all the completed tasks are pulled down. I'd like either a) categorisation in the handset, and/or :D the ability to sync only uncompleted tasks in specific categories. Categorisation would be really very valuable to me. I use David Allen's approach to managing task lists (www.davidco.com) and although his approach works really well on a Palm and in Outlook, it's currently impossible, as far as I can see, to use his approach on an SPV.

So the upshot is that there is no way for me to get my tasks into the phone in a form in which they are usable. This is deeply deeply frustrating as I have them all sitting in Outlook and use them on a daily basis.

Yeah - very frustrating - the tasks app is horrendously crippled even for people with low task volumes - hopefully something to be fixed at a later date... :?
