Classic Windows Desktop for Home Screen?

I've been looking at the XML modifications as well as trying them and was wondering is there any way of tinkering with the XML to achieve a Windows desktop look? i.e. with the shortcut icons tiled vertically. Any idea's???? :D :idea:
