SMS Capital letters ??

Hi peeps,

I received my replacement spv yesterday, unfortunately i have a small problem. When composing a new sms or e-mail i cant seem to switch to capital letters, when pressing and holding the * key the phone only switches between t9, abc and 123 in lowercase, even when trying to type in my msn password, for example, some is in uppercase and this makes it impossible to sign in...Does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be causing this problem? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Press * to change case. Hold * to change input mode (t9, 123, abc).

Choose the abc option (holding the * button switches between abc, T9 and 123) and shortly press the * button, do not hold it as if you want to switch mode entirely!
