New message alert

Wouldn't it be great if the flashing LED changed colour when you have a new SMS/Email/missed call/voicemail etc? If I've left my phone locked and leave it for any length of time I find it a real pain in the arse having to hit the navigation pad or unlock the phone just to see if I've missed anything whilst I was away (also wasting much needed battery power by constantly flicking the screen on). Surely it wouldn't have been toooo hard for them to change the colour of the LED to grab your attention, it already changes colour when it's charging!

Grrrrrrrrrrrr........

I do like this idea, it would be very useful. And if changing the colour of the LED might be a problem, perhaps faster blinking could be implemented instead.

Personally I hate the LED. It keeps me awake at night :-(

Mightn't be too bad if it only came on when a new message had arrived.

My feelings exactly. The only solution I've found is to either put it under a book or towel, or something, or leave it on charge. I can live with the amber glow.

So what about when the phone lights up and random intervals? Grrrr :D

I hate the LED too - why does it have to flash! I think it should stay off til you get a new message or missed call - then it would actually be usefel!

Well, to be honest I'd never thought of the LED as being annoying but I guess you all have a point. I think that because my last phone had one too I've kinda got used to it - leave it face down, that'll do the trick at night. The LED would be faaaaaar more useful if it only flashed when the phone's trying to tell you something other than "yes, I'm still switched on... and my battery (surprisingly) isn't dying yet..."

A matter of taste, I loved my ericsson's LED....... Very useful when the phone is placed somewhere off-hand. Just my POV thou.

I personally don't find the LED annoying at all. I don't even notice when I go to sleep because I have my eyes closed :(

Seriously though I find it useful anyway as when the screen is blank it saves me pressing any keys to see if my phone is still on. I agree it could be more useful though by changing colour or flashing quicker when you miss a call or receive a message. I guess we all find different things annoying but it's a "feature" of the phone :D

Flashing LED control script command ist f

To have your LED flashing for e.g. 60 secs when received a SMS (or other notification) try

f1pw60f0 at HKCU/ControlPanel/SoundCategories/Notification/Script

f1 = f(lash) on, p(lay sound), w(wait)60, f0 = f(lash) off :wink:

Also applicable at HKCU/ControlPanel/Sounds/*/Script

Nice he? Krille

that works a treat, thanks krille, any way of changing the colour though? I mean the colour can change to red and orange for battery events so can that be incorporated too?

what if the LED flashed when the phone had service coverage from the network (so you knew that everything was okay) and stayed on continuously when you had a waiting SMS or maybe even a missed call ?

This one sounds like a great idea :)
