Guest NickB&SPV Posted March 25, 2003 Report Posted March 25, 2003 Have I missed it? Can you put a warning sound to tell you when the battery is running low ? If so will it keep reminding you at certain intervals? :)
Guest yatpeak Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 I don't believe you can. In fact, I don't think you can get any warning at all, not even an alert message. Wyatt
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Control Panel/Sounds/LowBattery Is one of the system sounds you can modify with Midnight`s registry tweaks. Check the articles section or his website. :)

Guest midnight Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 i get an alert message and a sound and it does it occasionally while the battery is running down, sound quite cool with it speaking 'low battery' instead of just the boring two beeps you get
Guest Gorskar Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 When the battery is low on mine the little battery indicator at the top changes to an exclaimation mark, and more importantly the flashing LED starts flashing red. I think a warning message pops up also, but I'm not sure about what sound (if any) comes up.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 Mine does the same plus the warning sound when the notice pops up informing me of the low battery.
Guest NickB&SPV Posted March 27, 2003 Report Posted March 27, 2003 I have used the registry editor and changed the low battery sound to a louder one. Thanks.
Guest midnight Posted March 27, 2003 Report Posted March 27, 2003 Right, after a bit of investigation, looks as though someone messed up somewhere . In the registry there is a Sound value you can change which is for LowBattery, now, in my tweaks I have said that if you changethis value to a wav then you can get it to tell you when the battery is low using speech. Now heres the strange part, after letting my bettery run low on purpose to test it (amazingly 15hrs keeping the backlight on permanently and even playing some games occasionaly), it doesnt use the LowBattery setting at all, instead, it appears to use SystemExclamation (or SystemAsterisk, not 100% sure which one, cos i use the same 'alert' wav for both). So, like i mentioned earlier, it warns you several times, displays a warning screen, plays a sound and flashes the led red. Enough notification if you ask me
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted March 27, 2003 Report Posted March 27, 2003 Mine does the same plus the warning sound when the notice pops up informing me of the low battery. What i said  (finally got your battery to discharge then midnight? ;))
Guest midnight Posted March 27, 2003 Report Posted March 27, 2003 yup indeedy, and people are complaining about the battery on these things hehehe, i'd like to see a p800 last 15 hrs with the backlight on permanently hehehe
Guest yatpeak Posted March 28, 2003 Report Posted March 28, 2003 Mine gives a warning, but I don't remember any sound... Wyatt
