Hi Guys,

Just wanted to ask if anyone had any tips where I might get cheaper SD cards.. (Im in UK) A local Dixons store said that 64MB was gonna be £90!! Ive seen them cheaper but roughly £1 per meg.. 32MB=£30, 64MB=£60, 128MB=£90

Also, anyone know if there are any issues with specific SD card types and sizes??

I want to use the storage for MP3's and PPT's

Thanks

I bought a few Lexar 128 MB SD's from Sparco (www.sparco.com) - wanted one for my Toshiba E570, and found a few friends who wanted one too for their XDA's. We split the shipping costs, and payed about € 80 a piece.

Since then, the price dropped - was $ 69 when I ordered, is at $ 57 now.

Hm... the "€" in my previous post was a Euro sign when I submitted it.

The cards were about 80 Euro's a piece, including shipping.

I got a 64Mb MMC card from Amazon.co.uk for about £25 - works just as well as an SD card and amazon is nice and simple to order from.

I got a 128mb card from dabs quite cheap - I've heard that even having the card in your phone unused can cause extra battery drain though I haven't tested the theory closely - anyone else heard or experienced this?

not sure if this is the right place to ask this question but how are you putting minority report onto youre phone? are you using a file donwloaded from the net or is there a way to convert my DVD and VCD movies into a file i could put on the phone? Hope there is. It'll be useful in all those boring uni lectures. :D

Look in the tips and tricks forum phil, there's a post there as a sticky about that.

An extensive step by step guide on how to do this has been written already (and very good it is too). Think you'll find it as one of the top 3-4 posts on the forum. Failing that use the search facility.

I got a SanDisk 256Mb SD card on ebay for £99.00 and it works great on my SPV and also in my Digital camera. However when I plug it into the card reader (made by Carry) on my PC I get a "cyclic redundancy check error" when trying to write to it. If i use a 128 or smaller card in the reader it works fine. Anyone got any ideas why this is happening?

It might not be as cheap as some of the prices mentioned for 128MB card but thought i'd add

7dayshop.com to the list of cheap enough places to buy from.

I've not ordered from them though - and think i'll go look on eBay as others have mentioned in this thread :D
