Can't send MMS to other networks?

Hello there,

I am having trouble sending MMS messages to a friend, I phoned Orange, who told me I cannot send messages to other networks. My frined is on Vodafone.

Is this true?

I find it hard to believe if it is!

I think it was the same when SMS was first launched. You can still e-mail though, so it's not totally useless.

If you send and MMS to a non-MMS phone they get a URL to view this at. Does this happen on cross network?

I've fiddled with MMS for a bit and they seem REALLY slow to send and receive. Maybe 2.5G phones just can't handfle it at the mo. Can't really see it tamking off until 3G.
