Guest HelloDave Posted January 1, 2003 Report Posted January 1, 2003 I'm being really picky here, but i'd like it to be quicker to switch text entry modes on the SPV. At the moment you have to hold the * key down to change from multitap to t9 to number entry which really bugs me, especially when you can't go straight from multitap to t9 mode, you have to go through number entry mode every time. It would be much easier to have a version more like the Nokia system (I know I know...!) where pressing * briefly switches between multitap and t9 and holding it down goes into caps lock/number mode. For example, something like this- Mode 1 - t9 -> T9 -> abc -> ABC Hold down * to get to... Mode 2 - T9 -> ABC -> 123 And hold down * again to get back to mode 1 Picky aren't I?! :D
Guest Bazz Posted January 1, 2003 Report Posted January 1, 2003 Or an "Insert Number" entry in the menu like the Nokias had.
Guest HelloDave Posted January 1, 2003 Report Posted January 1, 2003 You could enter numbers by holding down # (or whatever key it was) on my old 3330 too, but I didn't find that out til ages after I bought the phone! I'm sure the key mappings on the SPV are just there to be different to Nokia for the sake of it! Or maybe Nokia have copyrighted their key arrangement? If Amazon can do it for a click (one click ordering) and BT tried it for the hyperlink then anything's possible!
