Hi all,

I have just bought an SPV without contract (£200 still sealed in box with camera, case, chargers, dock etc... complete with genuine receipt - is this a good price??).

I wish to use my Orange PAYG SIM with it - THe PAYG sim works fine for GPRS in my T68 and I can browse WAP over GPRS no problem so the SIM is enabled. I can't get the GPRS set up on my SPV tho !! Any help would be MOST appreciated !

Cheers,

Si.

I have been having the same problem for a couple of weeks now. The settings that you need for PAYG are (from Orange tech support):

Connects to: The Internet

Access Point: payginternet

Username:

Password:

Primary DNS: 158.43.192.1

Secondary DNS: 158.43.128.1

IP Address:

Notes: AP name must be in lowercase; Username, password and IP are left blank

I have spoken with an Orange techie about the problem and he couldn't find anything wrong and said that it must be a temporary network problem. That was last week. I have yet to get back to them.

Good Luck, and be sure to let us know if you manage to get it working.

I have entered all the settings and the phone now seems to actually make a connection (G is constant in the Sig Strength meter). However, no matter where I try to surf I get the same page :

alert - The page you are looking for cannot be found!!!

Frustrating !!!

My settings are as follows :

In Internet Explorer :

Menu/Options/Connections - Automatically Detect Settings is ticked and "Select Network" is set to "The Internet".

--------------------------

In Programs/Settings/Data Connections :

Internet Connection="Orange GPRS PAYG"

Work Connection="Automatic"

WAP Connection="Orange GPRS PAYG"

Secure WAP connection="None Available"

-------------------------

In Programs/Settings/Data Connections/Menu/Edit Connections/GPRS Connections/Orange GPRS PAYG :

Connects To = "The Internet"

Access Point = "payginternet"

User Name =

Password =

Primary DNS="158.43.192.1"

Secondary DNS="158.43.128.1"

IP Address=

Can anyone help please ?

Try WAP over GPRS service (paygwap)

Create a GPRS connection for 'Orange WAP PAYG'

In Data connections change WAP connection=Orange WAP PAYG

Internet explorer - Select Network=WAP network

(don't tick automatically detect settings - I get page not found if its ticked)

create favourite for http://orange.multimedia/ (orange WAP home site)

If the WAP over GPRS worked on the other phone, it should work here.

Look for the G in the top right to indicate an active GPRS service.

There could be a problem with the payginternet service for you particular sim ?

When you have Select network=The internet, what URL's are you trying to connect to ?
