Hey guys (and gals ?) i was wondering if there is a site or app which "emulates" the SmartPhone 2002 look&feel so i could have a looksy how it would "look/feel" like... (kinda like you have phone emulations on Sony Ericsons site...)

Or a site with movies / pictures of it in action ?

thx :)

good idea but not really an option :) because they don't sell (and won't be soon) sell the SPV over here in Belgium. If i decide to buy one i'll have to get one in Holland (not that far)

Just waiting for Orange Holland to start with their SPV , (31 march) , some reports say they are gonna sell the SPVx but i think that's a typo or something... cause i think it's too early to actually boy those spvx's eh ?

I decided to hold out for the SPVx which might kill me (i have like NO patience when it comes to buying new goodies ;))

You use a SVPx too eh Paul ? or did i misread that somewhere ? Do you like it significantly better then the "normal" one ? or not ? (specificly the new LCD display)

Oh yeah, what i was wondering the SPV updates , do they work on the SPVx too ?

I've got an SPVx, and I love it, much better! (See it at the meet :) )

I have a contact in the Phillippines now, so I may be able to sell offline Tanager's very soon

Won't they be rediculously expensive?

Did you ever hear from Orange about cheap upgrades for SPV owners?

Awesome :)

I was surprised by the price of SPV @ Orange Holland : it would cost only 250 euro, is that a normal price ? or a real cheap one ? cause i think it's rather cheap ;) i hope i can get the spvx for that price too :D

250 Euros SIM free? You sure?

You won't get the SPVx quite that cheap offline, but they won't be TOO expensive I hope :)

SPVx discount for SPV owners is not gonna happen my O sources tell me...

To Ladama,

I'm from Holland and Orange starts in here 31st of March, it has taken over the dutch provider Dutchtone. But I think it's gonna take some time till they introduce the SPV in The Netherlands. You'd better wait for T-Mobile. They're introducing the SPVx / Tanager this summer in all the countries where T-Mobile is providing (do you have T-Mobile in Belgium too?). I think they are providing the SPVx before Orange.

Cheers

"but they won't be TOO expensive I hope " , do you have an estimate ? or what did you pay for yours ? :)

man this is killing me =)

I want a smartphone, but i really want the SPVx one cause of the better display :/ but then i have to wait another 3 months :)

(btw one other little question : you can use WAVE file as ringtones right ? can you assign a specific ringtone for a certain contact ?

And another thing : does using waves as ringtones slow down the phone ? : like it would take a while before the ringtone is loaded so the phone is calling but it takes a little to play the wave ?

You can use WAVs as ringtones. It doesn't slow the phone down noticably, but you have to install them onto the phone, not the SD, unless you decert it and use the Registry editor.

going back to the subject of the thread, you could download the sdk and use the emulator in there, if you're suitably equipped. I don't have an spv yet, but it's fun to play with the emulator and get ready for some coding!
