Get ready for the most stupid question of all time...

What does the silver button on the SPV headphones do?... I've not yet used them on a call but have for playing MP3's and the button appears to do nothing?

I think its a push-to-mute button, when they are in you can hear your breath if you blow into it, you cant if you press the button. Either that or its a push-to-talk button.

I haven't tried it either but I would expect it to be an answer button

So if you wear your headphones to "look cool" between calls you will hear a ring noise in the headphone and can press the silver button to answer rather than having to get the handset out of your pocket.

Cool cheers guys, I just tried it (duh, why didn't I do that in the first place) and heres what happens:

Headphones in, incomming call recieveved:

Use button to answer call.

You can also hold the button to mute your voice during a call as suggested NXNM

So you were both spot on!

Don't feel too bad - I only realised that the headphones had a volume control slider today. And I've had the phone two weeks!

Heh. I felt a bit of a turd when I discovered the 'phones' volume control - after whining to a mate that the MP3 player was crap and too quiet ; )

When and If they decide to implement a voice active engine then the button would also be used for starting a voice tag. Same thing as I had on me Nokia Phone, was damn handy button when driving or cycling.

I found the REAL use for the button last night, bringing the backlight back on when you are watching a film ( phone propped up nicely in front of me ).
