Lock-up in the morning ...

Now, someone knowing me would say that this is a behaviour learnt from the owner, but I really do not require taking my batteries out and putting them in again (ewww..) to get me to wake up ...

Seriously though, I put my SPV to sleep as usual freshly charged and operative next to me on the bedside table (aaahhh...) and it reassuringly kept blinking the green light all night as usual. It was still blinking in the morning, but the screen was blank, no light, nothing, and I could find no way to wake it up. No buttons were operative, including the power button. Fussed for a few minutes, then took the battery out, counted to ten (a bit of magic always helps), put it back in, and then the power button worked.

Anyone else noticed this behaviour?

I think it is a bug, and a serious one too. I'll try to get it to do the same tonight ...

Best wishes,

Wlodek

I have seen this behaviour on my SPV too, but only when I switched radio off. If I do not do this, it has been ok. It sounds like your radio remained on though....

Mine did this 3 times in the first two days I had it, always while the screensaver was on to blank the display. Since then I've stopped using the screensaver and have only had two more lockups in a fortnight. The battery only goes down by about 20% overnight for me, even with the display left on.

Rang Orange this morning on 156 and was told they are aware of the locking up problem and may have a fix in the update that's due sometime soon (but no definite date).

Unfortunately, they didn't agree that the "have to press the power button several times to get it to switch on" problem was a bug - just doesn't happen apparently...... ("try flattening the battery and recharging" was the suggested solution to this)
