Guest sbsdegb1 Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 Just in case people don't know you can use nokia chargers with your SPV. The connector is a bit stiff when pushing it on to the nokia charger but it works a treat, meaning I can leave my SPV power supply plugged into the cradle. Haven't tried my nokia car charger yet but I would assume it works too. Will try tonight on the way home from work. All I need now is a spare SPV adapter, one for home and one for the car. Anyone know where I can get one.
Guest goosegog Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 I tried this. I checked polarity and voltage first which were fine but I can beither get my SPV charger to charge my Nokia nor my Nokia charger to charge my SPV. I asume because the plusg are slightly different they're not making contact. PS, I'm a newbie here, brand spanking newbie in fact. Glad to have found a decent forum! Ferg
Guest sbsdegb1 Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 OK tried my nokia car charger on the way home. Its the one I got with my 6210. It was a bit tight but I managed to get my SPV connector onto the plug at the end. Its a bit smaller than the SPV charger socket. Plugged it into the lighter socket and voila. One in car charger for my SPV. Battery problems. What battery problems. :D :( :( I remember seeing somewhere a wind up charger for Nokia phones. Now if I can attach that to my SPV I can charge it up everywhere.

Ferg If you have a "standard" nokia charger (cube, 3.6V), then it is the wrong voltage to charge the SPV You need a nokia "fast charger" as supplied with 6210 / 7210 - 5.3V, higher current...
Guest sbsdegb1 Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 Mine came with 6210 hence thats probably why it works. thanks for the Tip.
Guest summie Posted January 4, 2003 Report Posted January 4, 2003 Hi just to let you know - you can actually use any XDA charger as a spare charger for the SPV - It has the correct fittings and they also have a Car charger availible. This is because the XDA and SPV are both made by HTC (and if I don't stop talking I will be eating Alphabet soup soon!) Regards Darren
Guest Devil Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 I bought an Alcatel 311 charger from Safeway for a tenner - it works a treat! :D
Guest rashah Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 You can buy a charger from eBay for around £15, which plugs into your PC and has an extra attachment for the car. A car only charger is £8

Guest coolcatshaft Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 You can get the car/usb in one charger from any O2 shop! you shoulda seen it, it was too funny! i asked the guy if he had an o2 xda car charger, when he got it i tried to see if it fitted the SPV and the guy started freaking out! "thats not an XDA!" " i thought you asked for an XDA charger", "what the hell is that" ;) but it works a treat, plug in the adaptor and it works in the car, unplug it and u can use any usb port anywhere! fantastic stuff!
