Guest izg Posted January 4, 2003 Report Posted January 4, 2003  I have a starnge problem, I can get SMS messages, However when I press the replay key, nothing happening, no option to replay or type a replay. The same goes when I try to send a new message from the phone, no window that allow typing is opening. I probably missed somthing in the settings ? I have a GPRS connection set up & running as I can surf or get e-mails, but way no option to replay. Any idea how to help? maybe i do not have a setting for a GSM connection ?
Guest The_Brickster Posted January 4, 2003 Report Posted January 4, 2003 It may be worth checking with Orange that you have got SMS activated, normally this is automatic, but sometimes they can forget.
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted January 5, 2003 Report Posted January 5, 2003 Bizarre! Is the option actually greyed out? Can you try someone else's SIM in the phone? As mentioned above, sometimes SMS enabling doesn't happen properly on new / replacement SIMs, so this could be your problem. P
Guest Windy Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 Might be of help but I had a similar problem and it turned out it was due to lack of space on the phone.. Try checking the space left in 'about' and if it's below 1Mb try to clear a bit more space.. Just re-read your message again, you might want to also call the orange helpline to activate your sms.. it might be like the gprs which isn't always active when you first get the phone.. give them a buzz and they'll probably text a fix or update the details on the phone for you..
Guest castlebrae Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 I have the same problem, after unlocking, when i goto my inbox and select new nothing happens. I contacted Orange and they said they would send me a SMS Sim update (or whatever it is called). I have the 'G' symbol, and I have 1 bar of signal. I have 2.18MB available storage and 5.39 total memory available. Oops I have just noticed that Internet Explorer doesn't seem to work either, but the signal is bad, so that might be it!
Guest HelloDave Posted February 14, 2003 Report Posted February 14, 2003 The SMS message centre number may have been deleted when you did the hard reset. I can't remember where it is in settings offhand but do a search and you should find the number you need to enter.
