Dr. Ralph's Homescreen - Simple version??

I love the icons etc on Dr. Ralph's homescreen. However, i would love to have the same homescreen with a simple layout i.e just sms text and no news/ sport link etc. As i am completely xml illiterate can someone please tell me what i need to delete to get such a simple look. Thanks.

So xml modification isn't as hard as i thought!

I am answering my own post cause i have managed to modify Dr. Ralph's homescreen for my preferences. Quite simple with small icons and missed calls plug-in. Here it is if anyones interested:
