Guest mcfc2134 Posted January 5, 2003 Report Posted January 5, 2003 I recieved my SPV yesterday and have bought a 128mb SD card. I understand it is possible to add mp3'z to play on the spv. I am a little unsure of how to get my mp3'z onto my SD card and then to play in windows media player on my SPV. Could anybody help me!? Also how well does the SPV play mp3's? The sound quality good? And my final question...can u use your own headphones or do you have to use the ones provided. I am away from home at the moment and so that is why i cant try this all out!! Cheers in advance. Tim
Guest Chris b.a.r.f. Posted January 5, 2003 Report Posted January 5, 2003 Use ActiveSync's explore feature to open the Storage Card folder on your SPV, then just copy the files across as normal. You can also use a card-reader if you have one. Just chuck the MP3's in the root directory of your new SD-card, SPV's Media Player will find them automatically. The MP3 quality is great, I use mostly 128-196kbps files with no problems - 128kbps seems to be the ideal bitrate. The headphones are s***. I got hold of some foamy-earpiece things and they fit much better now. You can use your own 'phones if they either have a micro-jack (2.5mm) or a 3.5 > 2.5mm adaptor. Chris : )
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted January 5, 2003 Report Posted January 5, 2003 Are the XDA headphones compatible? Are they any better? Trium Mondo headphones also work, but they are pretty crap too :D P

I'll post here if I find something. Chris : )
Guest lucky Posted January 5, 2003 Report Posted January 5, 2003 The supplied earphones are rubbish and the mic is close to useless, that is annoying because I used to use handsfree alot. So, I had a spare pair of sony earphones and i got the shells and soldered on the speakers to the supplied 2.5mm cable. They fit my ears much better and i was suprised by the improvement in sound quality. I would recommend anyone who can do this should do so. now all i have to do is find a mic to retro fit...

I've been thinking about doing this myself, my little bro's sending me a pair of decent Sony 'phones he had lying around the place so I'll give it a shot. The mic I can (and will) live without.
