Guest able Posted January 5, 2003 Report Posted January 5, 2003 From what i've seen www.onestopphoneshop.co.uk appear to be the cheapest at: Phone price = Free Your Plan 200 = 30 a month 4 months rental = 120 for the phone with a contract Anyone know anywhere cheaper or does this seem the average price paid for it? Cheers
Guest Emad Posted January 5, 2003 Report Posted January 5, 2003 Don't forget you need to also pay £6 a month for the GPRS package for the next four months.. And also you have minumum 12 month contract with orange - the 4 months is just the time period during which you can't change your contract - after that, you can, but the lowest is the £10 a month data only tariff.
Guest The_Brickster Posted January 5, 2003 Report Posted January 5, 2003 With onestopphoneshop you can actually choose not to have the £6/month data tariff, well you could when I bought mine from them.
Guest able Posted January 5, 2003 Report Posted January 5, 2003 I had noticed that you did'nt have to signup to the 6pm gprs tariff.. Well after the four months i would stick it on the virgin tariff and forget about that contract...
Guest The_Brickster Posted January 5, 2003 Report Posted January 5, 2003 I think if you switch over the the Virgin tarrif you'll have to pay £15/month for the remaining 8 months, I know it used to be £10/month. The best bet would be to stay on their Data tariff as you also get insurance included free.
Guest able Posted January 5, 2003 Report Posted January 5, 2003 The only t&c's i can really see that relate to the talk plan is as follows: "With many of our offers the price/package that a phone is offered with is dependent on a specific tariff being selected. If the customer subsequently changes this tariff option within 3 months of connection then the purchase price variance for that phone based on the tariff the customer is actually on after 3 months (4 months on Orange) will be charged to the customer by onestopphoneshop. You undertake to remain on the chosen tariff for this minimum period, for any additional information please call our trained advisors." After this point i should be able to switch to an ovp virgin as i'm no longer bound to onestopshops t&c?
Guest graeme2b Posted January 5, 2003 Report Posted January 5, 2003 TOMO Nottingham £30 tariff handset free see Graeme :D
Guest Firaas Posted January 5, 2003 Report Posted January 5, 2003 It's not too clear from a legal "yes or no" perspective whether or not you are obliged to take out the SPV pack when you purchase the phone. You are however, allowed to cancel the pack according to the t&c's upon giving at least 5 days notice before your billing date, at any time during and after the promotion.
Guest sangfroid Posted January 5, 2003 Report Posted January 5, 2003 I don't think you can be obliged to take the £6 GPRS pack. I upgraded at an Orange retail outlet and was told that if I wanted the £6 GPRS pack I'd have to call 150 and request it (which I did).
Guest Aonz Posted January 5, 2003 Report Posted January 5, 2003 http://www.themobilerepublic.com/viewphone...=oraspv&did=326 Handset: FREE Line Rental: £25 per month (plus £6 for GPRS) Offer only open to UK customers over 18 years taking a new contract for 12 months. The offer does not apply to upgrades. The deal is offered on the basis that the tariff is not downgraded within the first three months.
