Ok, I'm at a dead end now. A couple days a go I put a different profile on my phone which worked fine, smaller icons, etc etc. But now (after the phone was put into service mode the other day and re-booted) when I try to put the profile back on (and that 'smooth' one taken directly off this forum) it comes back with No Home screen Layouts can be found. Install a valid home screen layout and then select it using the Home Screen item in Settings.

I DID THAT!!!!! annoying. :x

Has anyone else seen this, and how the funk do I fix it?

Yeah, that works.

But, now if I try to put a colour/background image other than default it goes back to the same error message about a valid home screen.

I can't see what has changed to make it not work.

In the .xml file I tried renaming the background image to one I'm using. Could just factory re-set the phone.

Trowsell, try the following:

1) Change the layout to the Full Layout, with scheme and background image set to default. Close the control panel, verify this works ok.

2) Ensure that the layout you're trying to use points to a valid background image that exists on the phone. If the background image isn't there you'll get the error you are seeing, even if you try and select a different one using the control panel.

3) Once you've verified the layout points to a valid image, copy it back into your IPSMApplication DataHome directory and try selecting it.

This should do the trick.

Ok, figured it out...

It all depends on the order which you do things.

You have to choose the Home Screen Layout first of all with the corresponding Background image saved in the Windows directory (not the memory card, which is where all my other images are (thanks Viki!!)) and set the back ground image to default. Once you have used this once you can then go back to the settings and use any back ground image you want.

And then do the same again every time the phone is rebooted...
