As you can see, I have created a 'GUI Modification' forum.

This on trial, to see whether a seperate area is appropriate. The situation will be reviewed in 7 days.

Cheers Paul. You could make it a "Customisation" section so it includes ring tones as well and any other useful stuff. Though I must admit I hate personallised ringtones!

Not sure there's enough call for a section just for GUI change, though I realise my thread started it ;-)

How are you managing to alter the XML files? I thought they were read only? Or are you adding files that it picks up instead? Let me know! :)

if you use activesync explorer you can look around the device, yes some of it is read only but that doesn't mean you cannot copy it, and learn from it.

if you have your own images or home screens then put them in the IPSMApplication DataHome folder.

home screens are named xxx.home.xml, xxx is whatever you want (the name as appears on the phone is defined inside the xml)

colour schemes are named xxx.scheme.xml.

The ones in the main windows dir will always be listed along with any others in the home folder, i dunno which takes priority though.

I have a feeling that Customisation area is a V.GOOD shout and should stay put. This topic however (i think) can get off the 'Sticky' list - not really relevant anymore.
