Guest Arigato Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 Hello, I had the same problem. But theres an easy way to resolve! Use "displex" or a similar screen repair. I don't know whether you have it in UK, but in Switzerland we have it! It works, but when you scratch with a stone ten times over the screen I guess you're a fool! :D) Then it won't work! that is one way to solve your problem! byebye...
Guest ajb3000 Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 I too have this problem, and its a fairly big and weird shape scratch, I have no idea how it got there. If anyone knows of a place I can get some screen repair stuff please please let me know.
Guest Arigato Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 where are you from? i think in every bigger electronic shop or department store you'll find a display repair! in switzerland e.g. it's interdiscount
Guest marksewell Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 Guys, There are rumors that toothpaste will get rid of the scratches !!! Horay ! Guest beersoft Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 I scrached mine after 3 days, brasso works on small scuffs and scratchs quite well, and brasso + toothpaste + electric toothbruch worked very well -Owen 1 slightly scrached minty SPV
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 Remember the way these products work is by abrasive action removing a small layer off the surface of the screen. From the manufacturer The plastic lens is lightly dissolved and polished with fine abrasive particles. The corners of the scratch traces are rounded off and the fissure bottom filled out with the material of the lens itself. http://www.displex.de/Languages/English/Index1.htm So be warned as there have also been posts where this has not worked and made the matter worse. PS the site also lists their reselling agents world wide.
Guest marksewell Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 Well good morning guys ! I can now confirm that tooth paste and Brasso really does work and seems quite safe to use of the screen. My screen was nearley unusable now its fine, I wont kid you. It doesnt make it look brand new, instead it just takes out the major scratches and seems to make extremley small ones in return. Belive me you cant really see them and using the method is cheap and easy. I had a lot of major scratches so it took me about an hour to get rid of them. hope this helps someone ! see ya SPVERS !
Guest squall Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 try coke  its science! would have to leave it on over night though, and try no soak your phone!
Guest beersoft Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 another thing i have tried today whilst breaking pc's at work was a thermal printer cleaning pen/pad then my classic brasso+toothpaste mix, the cleaning pen pulled out all the small scratches and the brasso+toothpaste buffed it up quite shiney and all, i only tried it because because there is no air con at the office, and im sweating like a whore in church  no more beer for me :) -- Owen leave it to the certified idiot to try something *that* stupid
