Guest V0oD0o Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 Hi all, I would like to write a game for the SPV, I've never written software before, so I thought I would install the SDK and the WinCD embedded visual tools and see what I could see. However, I just see emulators. :D So, could someone point me in the direction of some stuff to read? I'm a web app programmer by trade so I understand the syntax and theory behind coding, I just need to read up on how to write software for this particular platform. Thanks in advance, Mike
Guest The_Brickster Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 Do a search on here and you'll find out a lot about Orange certification, i.e. you can't run any software on the phone until you have paid Orange $600.
Guest spacemonkey Posted January 11, 2003 Report Posted January 11, 2003 You need to have installed Microsoft Embedded Visual Tools 3.0 and more specifically the Embedded Visual C++ 3.0 portion. Then install the Smartphone SDK. After that go in and run Embedded Visual C++ and you should be away. From the SDK you should have a heap of sample applications (although none seem to be games) in C:Windows CE Toolswce300Smartphone 2002sampleswin32 and the online help is an OK starting point. The Smartphone section is mostly overview about the hardware and design paradigm, but still a useful skim read.
