Guest TooMuch2AM Posted January 8, 2003 Report Posted January 8, 2003 Hi All, I've been lurking on here for a couple of days and you seem like a clued up bunch! My problem is that I have yet to get any form of GPRS working on my device. Orange update fails, PocketIE won't surf etc... I've tried manually adding the DNS servers to the 'Orange GPRS' connection with no joy. When attempting to connect using Orange Update the 'GPRS in use' icon is displayed, but nothing gets downloaded and the update eventually fails with an error. Any ideas? Cheers! Mike
Guest TooMuch2AM Posted January 8, 2003 Report Posted January 8, 2003 Just spoke to Orange Data Support Team and it seems the dozy swines hadn't added the SPV pack to my account! I also asked how 'unlimited' the 'unlimited' GPRS was and I got told that it said unlimited, 'but we're lying'... ... nothing new there then eh? M
Guest spacemonkey Posted January 8, 2003 Report Posted January 8, 2003 You need to get it switched on that will require a update coming through SMS. After you have received this SMS make sure you power your phone off and on. After that if it is set up right from an Orange point of view you should have a big G in a Square in the middle of the icon bar when you are on your home page. Then when you try to use it it will "dial" and then you'll have a little G on the iconbar above the reception indicator showing that you are connected. If you have the big G but Update and IE still aren't working then you need to start investigating the specific setup on your handset which is covered in various posts on this board. I presume you are in the UK and if so I wouldn't worry about Update not working cos it doesn't have anything in it yet.
