Active sync using IR

Hi All

Happy New year!!!

I am going blue in the face trying to get my phone to sync using IR. The status says the IR is avaiable but yet it cannot locate the phone. Has anyone successfully managed to sync using IR?

What am I missing? or not doing.

i've not had any problem. programs > activesync > menu > connect via ir...

then plonk it in the vague direction of the ir port on my laptop and activesync does the rest. xp picks it up as a modem too. then you can sync contacts and email etc with activesync on the laptop and explore the phone thru my computer

So I have now recieved an error stating the following.

"The connection failed due to missing server information or user credentials. Select Menu, Options and the connection to verify credentials are correct and try again"

What server information do I need to fill in. I dont think there should be any server information so I have not filled any information in any field and have left it blank but still get the error.

Does anyone have any information for me here to be able to sync using IR please.

what os and activesync versions are you running?

I am using W2K and AS 3.6 I am giving up as it seems as just yet another bug and that it simply cant be done.

But will still appreciate any help.
