Any speed or other issues with big SD cards?

It looks like I can buy a 128Mb SD card for ~£40-£45 in the UK, and a 256Mb from the US via eBay for ~£85-£90. So I can get 2 128Mb SD cards or 1 256Mb SD card for the same money. :D

So:

- could I get, say, a 2hr movie on a 128Mb card?

- are there any speed issues with 256Mb SD cards? e.g. Does the SPV take ages to list the local content in Media Player? Does it take ages to open any files from the card?

I'm just wondering, since the SPV isn't that fast anyway under any settings, whether there are any reasons to not buy a 256Mb card.

Please let me know!

Thanks,

DM

I have a 128 MB SD and have a 150 min movie on it plus other music videos. No problems like loading delays. Yes, lot depends on the ur conversion settings. The above movie is on 56Mb. So i dont think there should be any problem with a 256. I have other 64/32 cards from old phones but i'd rather have everything on one card than carry two or three.

Cheers

Hi,

I'm thinking of getting an SD card too, but do you advise me to get a reader/writer with it?

Is there a difference between the speed of putting files on de SD card via ActiveSync and and via the reader/writer?

Thanks in advance.

Just slightly - it's like the difference between walking to work and taking an F1 car, ignoring traffic of course :D Writing files to an SD card via my card reader is at least 10x faster than via the phone and ActiveSync. Then again if you're patient using ActiveSync works ok, it just depends how much data you're thinking of transferring. If you're only gonna be writing one 2mb wma every week it's probably not worth it!
