Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted January 8, 2003 Report Posted January 8, 2003 thought my solitare had broke, wasnt loading (but the icon was still being promoted to the start ofthe mru list, taunting me :(), fixed on a reboot though, was worried i'd have nothing to do while stilling on the shitter :D
Guest Shire29 Posted January 8, 2003 Report Posted January 8, 2003 Careful you don't drop your SPV down the toilet, it may or may not work but getting it out would be a shitter :D :( Cheers, Shire
Guest HelloDave Posted January 9, 2003 Report Posted January 9, 2003 I had that happen to me too - Solitaire wouldn't load via menus or key shortcut yet i'd had it running earlier. Only happened once, and a reboot fixed it. It's amazing - i've been using various versions of Windows for over 10 years now, and a reboot is still the final solution to almost everything. The only change is the Ctrl-Alt-Del screen has gradually got prettier, and actually works now in Win 2K! (In 3.1 it was more equivalent to a "let's totally lock up the computer" shortcut!) Now, where's Ctrl-Alt-Del on the SPV... Knowing M$ it'll end up being something like voice recorder, up, down and action button :D
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted January 9, 2003 Report Posted January 9, 2003 they make reference to that in the spv launch (search the site for the url for the streaming video). "wheres the ctrl alt del" key, i've not had need for one yet though :D although a taskmanager app would be nice so i can kill off some apps after i've used them :/
Guest HelloDave Posted January 9, 2003 Report Posted January 9, 2003 I did see a bit of the video, but decided life was too short to watch all 1hr 16mins of it! :D The SPV probably doesn't have a Ctrl-Alt-Del combo because when it crashes, it does it properly and you need to pull the battery out to get anywhere! Just like using Windows 3.1 again...
