Guest Vector Posted January 9, 2003 Report Posted January 9, 2003 I was just wondering whether it was worth buying ia album 1.6 or to not bother?
Guest crimminsky Posted January 9, 2003 Report Posted January 9, 2003 yes its worth buying just for the fact you don't have to go through MMS for the camera
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted January 9, 2003 Report Posted January 9, 2003 you can also record video and email photo attachments through gprs, not mms as you have to with the orange provided software. i'll buy this once i'm feeling flush, roll on payday :D
Guest Tiggercam Posted January 9, 2003 Report Posted January 9, 2003 Most definitely. Being able to take several pictures in moderately quick succession is a great improvement. Being able to email a picture is (for me, at least) much more useful than MMS. It would be nice if some more file operations were included on the menu - rename at the very least, but overall, it's a useful piece of software. And yes, it would have been better if this kind of functionality had been included with the phone....
Guest icornish Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 I bought ia album yesterday, before reading this thread. It's the best piece of software on my phone. The ability to take photo's much quicker than before is a godsend. The movie ability is pretty nifty too. Even better, to be able to send pictures and movies via e-mail and not MMS. Absolutely worth the money, but Orange should have done this by default...
Guest benzo Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 Another feature that would be useful in ia album is the ability to ir beam photos from the phone to other photo capable phones/ PCs etc. Other than that, it is a huge improvement on the $hite MMS module that we had to use to capture an image.
Guest cseilern Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 is it possible to e-mail photos that have been previously taken? is it possible to get the software to automatically store all photos on the storage card?
Guest Raify Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 is it possible to e-mail photos that have been previously taken? is it possible to get the software to automatically store all photos on the storage card? Yes on both. In 'Photos' with the thumbnails showing, click menu (right soft key) , file then email photo. This opens a new mail with the photo attached. Also, you can choose, folder and select storage card. this should save all future photo's on the card the best piece of software i've seen yet! Nathan
Guest sbsdegb1 Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 Looks like a great bit of software. What pi**es me off is that why wasn't something like this included in the Smartphone OS along with a task manager and file explorer. Just seems like they rushed this out without really thinking about what would and wouldn't be useful.
Guest xanadu Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 I think I would wait for the first Orange Smartfone update to see if the camera function is improved.
Guest TSCRYPTO Posted January 11, 2003 Report Posted January 11, 2003 Do you have to uninstall the old version before installing the new one?
Guest spacemonkey Posted January 11, 2003 Report Posted January 11, 2003 No, all apps that I have bought and installed automatically bring up a "installing this app requires the uninstalling of the previous version, press yes to continue" type thing as part of the setup process. Very clean.
Guest TSCRYPTO Posted January 11, 2003 Report Posted January 11, 2003 I have just purchased IA Album. To install, is it just a matter of deleting the old one a copying the new .exe file over to the same location?
Guest TSCRYPTO Posted January 11, 2003 Report Posted January 11, 2003 And what abt games? I goy IS flames and copied that over to ipsm/prog files, but cannot see it on the phone? Have I mucked up? :?
Guest TSCRYPTO Posted January 11, 2003 Report Posted January 11, 2003 Have just succesfully installed IA album and IS flames :D
Guest Michael Eyres Posted January 12, 2003 Report Posted January 12, 2003 Where can I get IA from ? Every time I go to a site it's in US Dollars. Is there a UK site ?
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted January 12, 2003 Report Posted January 12, 2003 or go here: http://www.handango.com/orange-cobrand/ :D
Guest yatpeak Posted January 13, 2003 Report Posted January 13, 2003 The movie ability is pretty nifty too.quote] Does this mean that you can record movies or watch them? Or something else entirely?
Guest icornish Posted January 13, 2003 Report Posted January 13, 2003 You can indeed record movies on this machine. quality is passable. Can be a bit jerky...
