A few questions about that crappy little black case...

Horror of horrors - my crappy little black SPV case is falling apart!

Yes, I know it looks cack, but it does keep my SPV dust free till something better comes along!

Anyway, the flip over close section has basically fallen apart (the stitching is probably too poor to stand up to the job).

The questions are:

1) Can I moan at Orange and get a replacement? 1 month life is not good!

2) Does anyone want to donate one to me (if you are too proud to wear it)?

3) Has anyone seen a 3rd party alternative available yet?

Thanks.

In a previous post this was mentioned

"I tried a neoprene case made for the Nokia 3310 and it fit like a glove"

Cheers

Cool, may have to take a trip to a phone shop today and try!

I quite like the horizontal belt fitment tho, if only it was better quality!

Keeping an SPV in a black leatherette case is like drinking a 1972 Château Latour from a polystyrene beaker.

I've heard the 6210 case is the most effective, others cover the buttons a little apparently.

As for the spv case i've never used them before and i havent used the spv one either, i'm thinking i might have to start though because i've noticed the first little patch of dust has started accumilating under the screen :D

If you want my faux-plastic case that came with the SPV then feel free, send me a PM and I'll chuck it in the post this weekend. Mine's pristene unused condition and even has "new plastic smell" still on it, so will probably be good for another months usage.

On a slightly different subject, your mission for the weekend really needs to be to change your avatar :D

Well so far (3 weeks), I've been quite impressed. In fact it really did save my phone when one time I dropped it (in the case), and it managed to bounce down a whole flight of steps. Not a scratch, and phone was fine. I know my 8310 would've probably given me that infernal "Insert SIM" message.

i had a similar problem when i had a siemens c35i, although it didnt start happening until after i had dropped it in a pint of carling...the earpiece also died, which made for interesting phonecalls, i tried to get the link to repair it on warrantee (?), however it got sent back saying it had been "subjected to liquid injestion", and was not covered by the warrantee :/

Changed...

It was a little creepy I must admit. I use Ghostzilla (http://www.ghostzilla.com/startp.html) for subtle browsing at work so I don't see the image all the time.

Ah, good old Sinfest..

3310 case works quite nicely, but how hard is it really to make a case for a phone? Where are those goddamn accessories Orange? Grrr..

Doesn't the SPV appear to be dunk-proof? Seem to recall tales of toilets and beers..

I can see it now, cradboard, duct tape, a bit of celophane for a window... perfect...

Not totally impressed with case... :?

Started falling down stairs with spv in case in hand, and put my had out (with spv) to stop myself falling headfirst.

Case protected most the phone, except corner where it sticks out - scratched green paint into corner of spv, and rubbed some of the shiny surface off... :D

Moral of the story?

Don't fall down stairs :D

Actual moral of the story: when falling down stairs, don't use your SPV to break your fall

Black Leather "Chairmans" Case for SPV

http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=CHAIRSPVBL

You'd think they'd have supplied pictures of it from other angles, wouldn't you? :?

Too expensive too. I'm interested however in that wraparound soft-material keypad case like the Palm one that was mentioned Ages ago...

Don't see a hole for the headset though, but then you can't use the phone in the case at all... nope, no good. And for godsakes I'm sick of leather cases, particularly with plastic windows. They're just the pits. Neoprene, much neater.

NEXT.

Ok so whats the velcro for, so you can stick it to the cat?

It's a start but we still need a cameraSD card holder to go with it ;)
