Hard Reset? It's a miracle!

Since I have had my SPV, every time I start composing an SMS, it pauses after about the 4th word.

Strange, I did my first hard reset yesterday, installed all the apps again, set home screen timeout to never, installed the Symbios desktop theme and it's a changed phone!

No weird pauses when composing SMS, in fact, no weird pauses at all yet!?!

Any ideas?

I haven't done a hard reset but i have installed the Symbios desktop theme, and i have to say i was staggered by the increase in speed in accessing menus etc. I think it might be the desktop rather than the reset?

What it is about the desktop that makes the SPV a more agreeable beast, I'm not sure of. But hey, thanks Symbios guys :>

my first phone went totatly FUBAR.....

wouldnt switch on..... totaly hung up when it got to the orange startup screen.....

i reluctantly did a hard reset.... and while doing it phoned orange...

they said they would send me a new phone...which they did..

but after the hard reset was finished the phone was working again!

so sent the old on back and got a new phone...

they new one is much better than my old one.. thank god..

but the hard reset seems to solve problems.

The "format and reload" is usually a good solution to most problems with any release of windows :D

The Symbios desktop seemed to make things a wee bit speedier for me in the menus, but the colours were ick (each to their own :D). That T9 problem is odd - I get the occasional pause, but it seems to be at a random place (4-5 seconds, not every message). Hard reset sounds scary, but will probably have to do it eventually.. Heh..

Just tried this MAPI file delete thing, and Tennis started acting up - it was working fine before. So, I'm now copying the files back on to the phone.
