Guest sadiquek Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 Somebody help ! I am sure you are supposed to be able to use voice tags but i cant find out how and Orange support cant tell me how .... If you look into the shortcuts menu, you can set a filter to view all your key shortcuts (speed dials) and also view your voice tags. Surely this means that you can actually do it ??? But i cant find out how to setup a voice tag in the first place. If you open a menu item or contact and select menu all you see is the option for SPEEDDIAL - how do I get the option for voice tags ???
Guest spacemonkey Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 Voice tags were originally intended for this phone but in the final version they were not enabled. Theoretically if they worked in a contact (or menu option) when you can choose to Add a speed dial, you should also be given the option of adding a voice tag. Hopefully we will see this in an update in the future. I imagine they left it unenabled because it didn't work properly, or maybe the phone sitting constantly listening for a voice tag used up the battery 5 times faster or something. Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 maybe the phone sitting constantly listening for a voice tag used up the battery 5 times faster or something. I have a Nokia 6250 (the industrial 62 type for those who do not know) and voice tags only work after a certain key is pressed, I forget which one as I don't use the feature :D So I presume that is how the spv would of worked if it still had that feature :? .
Guest spacemonkey Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 Yeah, there's some other phone tho, can't remember which one that you create one primary voice tag which it continuously listens for and then normal voice tags. So rather than pressing a key to make it listen and then saying "Dave" to get it to call, you'd say "Banana" to get it to listen and then say "Dave" to get it to call. You just need to make sure you're primary voice tag doesn't come up all the time in conversation... good scheme, pity the SPV doesn't have it.
Guest coolcatshaft Posted January 12, 2003 Report Posted January 12, 2003 My "old" T68i had that feature, its called 'Magic Word' activation, and yes it does drain the battery much faster. However the feature can only be activated in the headset profile, otherwise is non-selectable. Bizarre thing is that apparently all the review handsets for the SPV included voice tags and according to reports it worked quite well... orange works in mysterious ways!
