Guest wideawake Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 Phewww. Its "B" Day Received my bill today, upgraded 17th December 2002, was not aware of the limited in the "unlimited" promotional SPV pack. Total usage: 74.7870 meg No charge, No warning. However I do not feel I have abused the system. Following is a list of my usage:- 2x 5 mins streaming video (demo!) 2x 5 mins streaming radio (demo!) 20 emails all text emails per day (mostly MoDaCo thread alerts!!) 20 - 30 Html pages per day (via IrDa on PC) 2 x downloads (ok this is not the norm, exceptional!) approx 10 meg Now I think the above is probably normal usage (except for download) If £4 per meg no way I could use phone for the extra features. Also I note there is no Data breakdown on bill, just a summary. Comments and views please, anybody else got the monthly usage?
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 I havent got my bill yet, so i've no idea how much i'll have use. i havent been abusing the system at all though imho. As for when the offer finshed, i _might_ go for the 500k pack, and use it to download email headers only, as this is the most useful feature on gprs. All mobile services, voice and data, are all horribly over priced though really
Guest sbsdegb1 Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 I only used 10mb but I haven't been doing much on GPRS lately other than checking email occasionally when away from home. However there is no way I would pay £4 per MB, as I wouldn't class my usage as high at all.
Guest ajb3000 Posted January 11, 2003 Report Posted January 11, 2003 I *think* the people who have been charged might have been charged for using GPRS abroad on a foreign network. Has anyone been charged who has never taken the SPV abroad?
Guest Emad Posted January 11, 2003 Report Posted January 11, 2003 No, there have been chargings due to misunderstandings, as in Paul's case (see that long thread). They're meant to give you a nice warning if you're killing their poor little system with your reckless downloading, but they can't charge you without that warning.
Guest ajb3000 Posted January 11, 2003 Report Posted January 11, 2003 yea but Paul went to france over christmas, i'm just wondering if he used GPRS whilst over there without realising.
