I want to use my SPV to pick up emails as I travel - can I set the phone to be "always on" and get emails without having to go to "Send/Receive emails"?

Thanks

You cant have it constantly checking the server for mails, but you can set a timer to check every X minutes.

Open your inbox then goto options and then to automatic sychnarisation and then set how long the intervals between checking mail are!

Others have posted that you have to do a Send/Receive once to get Auto Synchonising started. This has to be done once after every power off.

I tip for you all:

You can set up via the orange website that you get an SMS notification when you get sent an email.

Good points:

The SMS message is free

You dont keep having to connect to check emails until your actaully sent one, thus saving your valuable battery and GPRS usage.

Bad Point:

You can only use this free service for Orange email accounts ie [email protected]

i was an Orange customer, had my mail forwarding and storing on the orange site, , swapped to cellnet, and kept getting the alerts, (also had 02 email sms alerts but they took up to a day to arrive!). now back with O (so i could get a signal at home). BUT i have problems actually connecting to the orange.net site on the spv to read my emails on the site.? anyone got a direct url?
