Guest j_sincla Posted January 11, 2003 Report Posted January 11, 2003 When choosing a recipient for an SMS, when you press the Action button, you always get a kind of loud beep - even when the phone is in silent Anyway to get rid of this?
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted January 11, 2003 Report Posted January 11, 2003 Nope, this is definitely a bug - fingers crossed that it is fixed in the first bugfix, because it is very annoying when trying to subtly SMS :D P
Guest Bazz Posted January 11, 2003 Report Posted January 11, 2003 I'm sure you all know this one, but just in case: From the home screen type the name (as if to make a call), highlight the contact and press left/right until you get sms and click on it. This starts a new Message/MMS with that contact in the To: field. No noise. A lot quicker than Message->New->Message/MMS->action->Type Name->action The only problem is that you can't add multiple recipients without the annoying BEEP! :-( Barry
Guest zenabi Posted January 12, 2003 Report Posted January 12, 2003 You can also turn the earpiece volume down to zero - that way most of the "unexpected" system sounds will be muted.
Guest Saracen Posted January 13, 2003 Report Posted January 13, 2003 Or if you're trying to be quiet, you can click the "Menu" softkey and select "Add to:", in order to add a recipient. That's one extra keypress, and it does obey profile rules.
Guest Jedra Posted January 13, 2003 Report Posted January 13, 2003 I simply put my thumb over the speaker - low tech I know, but it works - especially when you're in a boring meeting and you don't want anyone to know you're busy texting!!
