Guest woody Posted January 12, 2003 Report Posted January 12, 2003 is it possible to use my spv as a modem for my laptop while out and about.if so how do i set up phone
Guest crimminsky Posted January 12, 2003 Report Posted January 12, 2003 quoted from the news groups It doesn't work over USB at the moment due to dodgy drivers. Infrared instructions: On your phone, go to Prgrams > More > More > Accessories. Select IRComm and Menu > Activate. Align the infrared port with that on your PC, the PC should recognise the connection as Standard modem over infrared. It will install the drivers forthe device. Once installed, go to Start > Control Panel > Phone and Modem Options. Select Standard modem over infrared and click Properties. Go to the advanced screen, and enter the following initialisation string: +cgdcont=1,"IP","orangeinternet","",0,0 Then, go to Start > Control Panel > Network Connections > Create a new connection. Create a new connection, connect it through Standard modem over infrared, and put the phone number in as "*99#". Dial the number and bam!
Guest youngerpants Posted January 12, 2003 Report Posted January 12, 2003 if your laptop has an infra red port, you can connect your spv that way. Windows 2000 or XP should recognise it so it can be set up as a modem.
