Guest XPClone Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 I have used my SPV on my friends W2K laptop. It creates the partnership Ok and syncs fine. The problem is when I try and connect it again later on it doesn't seem to remmember it and prompts me to create the partnership again. (He doesn't have an SPV) This isn't right!!! Whilst typing this I was thinking to check if I have admin rights on the laptop because am I right in thinking the partnership will create and store info in the registry? Any other ideas - please help?
Guest Emad Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 Patience Mr Clone :D Partnerships are stored in the registry if I can remember correctly - do a search in the main forum and you can find out exactly where. This probably means you need admin rights to set up and store the partnership, then you can go back to being a guest and it should (well, might) work. What are you logging into 2k as at the moment?
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 If you are useing a Guest connection with activesync you will need to recreate the partnership each time you connect, just choose a full partnership and to sync nothing if you dont want ot have to continually choose the partnership type.
Guest XPClone Posted January 15, 2003 Report Posted January 15, 2003 I'm creating a full partnership and not a guest. I have admin rights on the registry but it still won't work??? Any ideas would be be appreciated.
Guest elementalist Posted January 15, 2003 Report Posted January 15, 2003 I was having the same thing every time I rebooted my SPV it would need a new partnership - this happened after it had reset to defaults, mystically. I found it no longer needs a new partnership after I put my email receving details back in... go figure...
