Guest jonwhalley Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 Is there any way of being able to download files larger than 8 mb directly to my 128mb sd-card, without using the USB/PC stuff. The phone automatically tries to download to internal memory and then fails at around 7meg with the message 'there is not enough memory on your phone'.
Guest spacemonkey Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 Don't know if there's a way, but if you're pulling that down through GPRS, have you considered your potential data charges?
Guest jonwhalley Posted January 15, 2003 Report Posted January 15, 2003 I've read an article on this site where someone has been charged for downloading too much - so I'm assuming there's a 10mb per day limit. The files i'm trying to download are mp3 which are generally around 5Mb - 8Mb. I realise I could copy them over using a PC and the software supplied, but this is no good if I'm not at home. Just out of interest, I tried downloading a particular 8Mb mp3 file several times. The first two times, the phone crashed after about 5Mb and the third time it stopped at 6.5Mb with the message 'not enough phone memory'. My question is, given that I haven't successfully downloaded anything, would they charge me for 16.5Mb worth of data charges?
Guest Lojt Posted January 15, 2003 Report Posted January 15, 2003 My question is, given that I haven't successfully downloaded anything, would they charge me for 16.5Mb worth of data charges? Yes, of course. It is still data you have received.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted January 15, 2003 Report Posted January 15, 2003 You won't be charged though, just warned/cut off the GPRS bundle. If you are charged moan and you'll get ur money back. As for your problem, i've never seen any option for the download location i'm afraid.
Guest zenabi Posted January 15, 2003 Report Posted January 15, 2003 so I'm assuming there's a 10mb per day limit It's actually 10Mb per MONTH, but as Monolithix said, you shouldn't be charged without any warning.
