Is the SPV really this bad?

Hi guys.

Just ordered an SPV which i'm picking up tommorow but i'm alarmed by all the bad news about it on this site. Has anyone got anything good to say about this phone? Or should I go into the orange shop in the morning and throttle the bloke for attempting to rip me off? Which, thinking about it he already has done as i've already paid for it!

It is amazing.

I love it!

Now the app lock is removed, it is even better.

There's not a single phone i'd swap it for, and at the price... awesome!

well thats a little reassurance. i liked the look of it in the shop, despite the assistants attempt to persuade me to upgrade to a basic nokia model with no fee. i explained i didn't mind paying more for a better phone but he seemed hell bent on flogging me the most basic phone in the shop! had a play with it in the shop and decided it was the phone for me and read a few reviews in WHSmiths which convinced me!

I think i'll give it a whirl but may regsiter my reservations (from what i've read on this site) to the bloke and threaten him with extreme violence if i'm unhappy and he won't exchange it. that should do it but i REALLY hope i'm happy with it

Make sure you buy IA Album, the built in pic taking software is crap!

I like you was worried with all the negative comments about the SPV but i got one anyway (P800 was gonna be way too much money) and I love it...looks cool..got loads of features...yeah its a little buggy and has a few faults...but wait till they get it sorted and good apps start appearing...everyone will want one...

Well i guess i'll go fetch it later this morning and see how i get on! does anyone know how i stand if i find it to be unsatisfactory? on my upgrade contract last year it says there is no 14 day exchange available?

Read, read, read, digest - you need to know what you are doing if you play with skins/xml etc.

I have never ever ever ever had any problems (accept battery life), but I take care what I do.

Only this morning had me bro whingin that the phones shite and it wouldn't do this that and the other - what was he doing? trying to put xml & pics etc in his windows directory and wondered why it lost it on reboot - ;)

Just noticed you're from Leicester. I don't know how much you're paying, but before you part with any cash, go out to Scancom in South Wigston, by far the cheapest place in Leicester. Hope you enjoy it as much as most of us do

Looked a scancom's website and it looks as if its about the same sort of price as the shop in Melton Mowbray where i live but thanks for the tip - i wouldn't be able to get over there till next week and i'm one of those people whose got to have it right now!

Let us know what you think, most of the "bad" problems it seems were with the first batch back in november. These apparently were point versions, 0.x.x.x. Mine are all v1 or above and i've had no problems, main gripes being battery life and the crappy onboard photo software ;)
