Guest HighBimmin Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 I was wonding what template to use to encode some video clips that are in VCD format right now? I use TMPGEnc to encode via the direcions at pockettv.com and have all templates for Pocketpc. Does Fullscreen really use the entire screen? Or do I use a widescreen or portrait?? Much Thanks from a Newbie
Guest squall Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 now you mention it this hasnt been discussed before. I will have a play over the next few days and make a guide to encoding vid for the xda2
Guest squall Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 Firstly windows media encoder 9 has templates for pocket pc devices that work well. However i found these settings produced a good result - most are similar to teh settings on the SPV etc Windows Media Audio 9, Video: Windows Media Video V8. Target bit rate 128K - Audio format: 20kbps 22KHz stereo CBR. Video Size: 320x218 - full screen on xda2 Frame Rate: 18fps) Key Frame Interval: 1 Video Bit Rate: 125K bps Buffer size: 4s Video Smoothness: 8 if you arent sure what you are doing its prob best to stick with the templates
Guest HaZarD Posted December 14, 2004 Report Posted December 14, 2004 Have you tried using Pocket DivX Encoder and Betaplayer? I used to use TmpgEn and PocketTv, but found these 2 programs to be a lot better. Its a lot easier to define the properties of the video you're encoding, it's simply a case of moving sliders around.
Guest Dade Posted December 14, 2004 Report Posted December 14, 2004 Hazard is right - leave everything else alone and go get a copy of Pocket DivX its free and very good!
