Automatic hard reset on a M1000

Hi,

I bought mine M1000 7 weeks ago and had since several hard resets just at once. Closing an application and suddenly I got the blue screen (ping tap screen..... :? )

Has anyone the same problem? The M1000 is also known as MDA and Qtek 2020. So if someone has any solution I would be happy.

I'm glad to have Sprite backup so it is not a real big problem but it is not the way it should work.

I've had my m1000 for a week now, no major problems, most to do with fleshware issues (my own mindlessness ..!) lol, lmao!!

This problem has been reported on and off by other people for a while, have you tried the new rom version on the O website?

You could have a look at this LINK but there doesnt seem to be a definitive answer.

Ill mention it to the hardware guys at Orange.

Can you post up your ROM and Radio Stack version numbers?

Since my last post, I've had a problem with my m1000...

I went to the Orange site, to download and install the new rom, to enable mms..

The fone went blank apart from some text,"Serial 1.6" (I think it was anyway..)

I contacted Orange who replaced the phone... I'm working more or less happily at the moment, I'm very dubvious about trying to install the rom though...

Can you tell us what version you have now on your new device?

I've got:

Operator Version: 3.66.1.200

ROM Version: 1.66.00WWE

ROM Date: 02/20/04 (I assume this is American Format?)

Radio Version: 1.10.00

Protocol Version: 1337.18

ExtROM version: 1.66.200

Hope this helps ..

I have some information back from the Orange technical lead.

This can sometimes be caused by one of the following problems:

1) The red battery switch can become loose and can cause hard resest. Try flicking the switch back and forth a few times.

2) The terminals on the backup battery may be at fault.

If you continue to have the problem get Orange to replace the device as faulty!
