installing .cab files on my pocket pc. need help

i am installing a certain program on my ipaq 6315 pocket pc & when i click the link to download the file i get a webpage with a lot of symbols that i am not able to install the program with. does anyone know how i can install them on my pocket pc? do i have to activesync with a pc to install programs cause my pc is out of commission for now. any help would be apprieciated.

It does sould like you are going to have to download that file on a PC then install it via activesync. I think the page you are trying to download from is not able to be displayed on the PPC.

Could you provide a link so we can look at it for you?

Can some one please tell me how to install .CAB files i have active sync but have no ideas how to install the files onto my I-mate jam

Using Active Sync copy the cab file from your PC (don't unpack it first) to (say) the My Documents folder on the phone.

Now start the File Manager on the phone and go to the My Documents folder and you will see the cab file listed.

Simply tap the cab file with your stylus and everything else is automatic.

If you get a 'Won't display properly...designed for 2002...' warning on-screen you can ignore it. ;)
