Guest philgriffiths Posted November 27, 2004 Report Posted November 27, 2004 Does anyone know if its possible to have two sim cards registered for the same account and phone number? I plan on using my M2000 as my main phone and another device for when i want something smaller in my pocket and want to know if its possible to have two sim cards for my account so that i dont have to keep swapping the one sim card between the two devices
Guest Dade Posted November 27, 2004 Report Posted November 27, 2004 Not on Orange unfortunately. Other networks offer this service whereby you enter an access code each time you want to use a specific device and the network knows which SIM you are using. Orange: Keep up with the other networks, your users want this service!!
Guest philgriffiths Posted November 27, 2004 Report Posted November 27, 2004 any work around to solve the problem of sim swapping?
Guest Dade Posted November 27, 2004 Report Posted November 27, 2004 Yeah, have two accounts, two SIM's and two phones!
Guest philgriffiths Posted November 27, 2004 Report Posted November 27, 2004 Yeah, have two accounts, two SIM's and two phones! Smarty Pants! Is it possible to plug the mains charger into the M2000 and remove the battery without it losing power and swtiching off? If so will have to just swap sims that way
Guest Dade Posted November 27, 2004 Report Posted November 27, 2004 Nope, the bit that holds the battery in is also the main switch!
Guest philgriffiths Posted November 27, 2004 Report Posted November 27, 2004 so is there anyway to take the sim card out and put it in another phone without losing your setup options on the M2000? Or am i resigned to a life of backups and system restores everytime I switch phones
Guest Dade Posted November 27, 2004 Report Posted November 27, 2004 taking the battery out doesnt kill the data on the handset.
Guest blackhorse Posted December 1, 2004 Report Posted December 1, 2004 Only half way around this problem weve ever discovered instore is to basically put antother Orange phone number into the phone in question which is normally a car phone. Then use Orange everyohone (530) which is FOC divert for Orange customers that allows them to divert all calls to a Orange number or landline. Generally a PAYG chip is bought for this, works a treat only problem is out going calls still would be done as PAYG
Guest TigerNet Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 @blackhorse...do you know where to get more info on this?? Cheers Nick
