Guest shaun Posted November 28, 2004 Report Posted November 28, 2004 Hi Guys I have made my mind up I am going for the M2000 when my contract is up. I have a E200, and one thing I really like is the filtered contact list you get as you press the keys How does the M2000 handle searching for contacts? Do you have to use the stilus as you would in a pocket PC? ( i have an old HP Jornada 540 - so its a bit behind the times) I understand that the "Xda IIi will features HTC's latest 'Intelli' technology which includes 'IntelliPad' and 'IntelliDialer'" - from the review I read this 'intelli' technology offers some sort of equvalent the the smartphone contacts filter and T9 - I know this is a completly different device, but does anyone know if it could be ported to the M2000? Anyone who has a M2000, i would be interested in hearing how well it works as a phone. thanks shaun
Guest foxy11 Posted November 28, 2004 Report Posted November 28, 2004 my usual method is like this.... Press the call key Tap the contacts icon either pick a section... (eg. "cde", "lmn" etc) OR type first letter or two into "Find a Name box" Then tap on number to call
Guest Dade Posted November 28, 2004 Report Posted November 28, 2004 Why dont you just press the contacts key?
Guest foxy11 Posted November 28, 2004 Report Posted November 28, 2004 because i have an annoying habit of half typing someones number before changing my mind and finding the contact :) No idea why, have done it for years! /me goes back to the asylum
Guest abatis Posted November 29, 2004 Report Posted November 29, 2004 If you search around you can find IntelliDialer that works great for the PDA2K. But I am not sure that is what you are looking for. I use a WriteShield and let my fingers do the walking.
Guest lewis.curley Posted December 1, 2004 Report Posted December 1, 2004 Has any one got an implementation of IntelliDialer working on and Orange M2000? It seems to be exactly what i want a 'smartphoneesque' way of search contacts but i have tried to installed 2 different ones eDsuBsofT_IntelliDialer_WWE_RC10.CAB and IntelliDialer_T-Mobile_WWE_RC10.CAB and neither seem to work i think the orange part of the dialer at the top of the screen is blocking the intellidialer, any ideas or suggestions? Thanks
Guest c2fow Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 Yes - just ran the cab on the phone, soft -reset & away. Also on the xda developers’ forum you will find a more normal 'blue' skin rather than the awful T-Mobile one. And it works just like my old E200; type in letters of the surname and the list quickly reduces down. This is probably one of the biggest 'must have' additions (together with SBP+, mGALSync and 1-calc (great calculator, makes the inbuilt one look very amateurish)). Just miss WM10 on the Dell. Could not get on with any of the 3rd party players and WM9 just does not manage playlists in a reasonable fashion (compared to WM10!) Tony.
