Guest tobtan Posted December 2, 2004 Report Posted December 2, 2004 Hi ! Still trying my best to get used to the M2000's size and weight-not returned it yet and it's growing on me every day!!! Just wondering, when I press the keyboard numbers fom the today screen the phone app comes on and there is a long beep and the keys freeze - when I open the phone app and do the same the numbers work fine. Another bug???
Guest Dade Posted December 2, 2004 Report Posted December 2, 2004 I cant reproduce that - anyone else?
Guest philgriffiths Posted December 2, 2004 Report Posted December 2, 2004 Nope. cant replicate that either. My seems to just go ahead and dial fine. exactly which keys are you pressing and when?
Guest raiderz Posted December 2, 2004 Report Posted December 2, 2004 Nope it works fine on mine, my keyboard keeps opening on its own though in my pocket. What are other users' keyboards like on the sliding action? tight or easy to open??
Guest tobtan Posted December 2, 2004 Report Posted December 2, 2004 Hi! I'm in the today screen-I slide open the keyboard and press any of the number keys-the phone app opens automatically and the keys freeze for 10 seconds and a long tone ensues.Following this the number input works fine. If i open the phone app then open the keyboard and do the same it's fine. It's buggered isn't it??!
Guest theanarch1st Posted December 2, 2004 Report Posted December 2, 2004 Have you installed any programs? changed any settings or is the phone just how you got it? i can't re create this problem either, the only thing i can think of is if your just turning the phone on after having it off for a while, the wifi starts up on its own which could cause your long beep and freezing other than that i don't know
Guest RussellH Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 Yep - noticed this last night. If you open the phone application first it works OK. It only seems to happen if you try to dial a number using the slide out keyboard directly from the Today screen. The keys don't seem to freeze, as I can continue pressing other numbers. It just seems to be the tone that sticks.
Guest RussellH Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 By the way, I wasn't using Wifi and I haven't installed any software yet.
Guest tobtan Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 Yeah, same here I haven't changed anything on the phone yet or installed any software. must be a bug...... I also noticed you can't use the keyboard numbers to speed dial
Guest Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 Same happens on my phone too when dialling using the slide out keyboard from the Today screen.
Guest brightlingsea Posted December 4, 2004 Report Posted December 4, 2004 Nope it works fine on mine, my keyboard keeps opening on its own though in my pocket. What are other users' keyboards like on the sliding action? tight or easy to open?? Mine was exactly the same. I got it replaced by Orange, and the new one is even worse !
Guest raiderz Posted December 4, 2004 Report Posted December 4, 2004 Mine was exactly the same. I got it replaced by Orange, and the new one is even worse ! Wonder if those 2 torx screws at the top have any impact on the sliding action of the keyboard??? Does anyone dare to check them out??
Guest raiderz Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 My keyboard is getting really slack now, it is possible to twist the keyboard side to side a little more than i would like, is any other ppl out there having the same problems or is it supposed to be like this?
Guest Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 Miner is looser than I would like to, particularly when closed. You only have to gently shake the device and it opens. When open and clicked into place it seems more solid.
Guest Dade Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 Mine is too stiff and is a bugger to open sometimes!
Guest raiderz Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 I'll swap u Dade, don't use the keyboard much!
