Guest egghead101 Posted December 8, 2004 Report Posted December 8, 2004 Well I have had my m2000 since Saturday and I have been frantically finding all the old sites for software. (used to have a Casio E115). I have worked out that the M2000 is ARM based and I have nearly filled my SD card with trial software while I find what I will use in the future. I have some questions though::::: 1. I have setup 5 email accounts setup and although I have set them all up to check for email every 60 minutes but it only ever checks the one the Messaging is selected on. Why? 2. GPRS stays on after email checks. It must turn off eventually but can you reduce the time out? 3. Having betrayed Microsoft for the last year being a SE p900 user, I have lost track of the good theme sites for PDAs. Where are they all? 4. What accessories do I buy for this phone? I need a car charger, and mains charger, a phone holder for the car? Thanks.....M2000 is a great phone :)
Guest matblack Posted December 8, 2004 Report Posted December 8, 2004 2. I'd like to know this too, my XDA IIs does the same thing. My old Mpx200 used to drop the connection as soon as it had picked up the mail which was ideal. I'll watch this thread as I am in exactly the same boat :) MB
Guest philgriffiths Posted December 8, 2004 Report Posted December 8, 2004 2. GPRS stays on after email checks. It must turn off eventually but can you reduce the time out?I noticed this today too, fortunatley after i had been connected for about a couple of hours and am likewise interested in how to get it to disconnect automatically 4. What accessories do I buy for this phone? I need a car charger, and mains charger, a phone holder for the car? I think you can use the same accessesories with the M2000 than with the M1000. I seem to remember reading or hearing somewhere that the input socket is the same, but i never owned an M1000 so you had better double check with a few other folks on here Thanks.....M2000 is a great phone :) Yes... yes it is!
Guest Dade Posted December 8, 2004 Report Posted December 8, 2004 The accessories that you list for the M1000 will work just fine on the M2000 but you will need to check the car holder as it would depend on what type you get as to whether or not it would suit the M2000 as it is a little wider and thicker than the M1000. One thing that wont work from the M1000 is the headset or a headphone adapter!
Guest Dade Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 Just FYI the M2000 CPU is and Intel Xscale but as you correctly pointed out, ARM based code works fine (most of the time).
Guest johnbanks Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 Regarding theme sites try the following http://www.pocketthemes.com http://www.pocketpcthemes.com
Guest egghead101 Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 Great Theme Sites!!!! Thanks Found another problem though. Its funny really, that two of my bug bears with regards the SPV was multi email syncing through scheduled checking and battey life/operation.... I changed to my spare battery at the weekend as I caned it with the wifi at home, the battery meter said 100% backup and when i changed I lost everything..... 3 times i have changed battery and twice i have had to restore.....is it me or the phone? the manual says bugger all really... waiting for the car charger and gps leads so i don't have to keep changing.... :x
Guest knightsfield Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 Looks like the phone. I’ve swapped between a fully charged spare battery and a completely dead one a number of times without any data lost.
Guest dazza12 Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 It's happened to me a couple of times. What I've found is that if the battery catch isn't fully down, you will lose all your data. The catch is a switch that switches between the main and backup battery. The gap between the contacts seems to be a bit too far, so if it's not fully switched over, you will lose the data. I use a combination of xBackup just before I switch the battery, and then making sure I push the switch right down when I remove the battery.
Guest egghead101 Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 Thanks Dazza for the tip. I will backup and try it again to see...... Any ideas on an email client that will check through all my email accounts without having to select each one???? :?:
