Guest dazultra2000 Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 OK, so I just got this phone yesterday after waiting months patiently. It's great and there's some useful stuff out there (wisbar has bowled me over so far)... however, I can't figure out for the life of me how to change some of the alert tones on the phone. Ringtone I managed to *just* do, but setting message or msn alerts wont work. I go to settings->add sounds and wait half an hour whilst it loads a load of "goodxx.wav" or badxx.wav" files (anyone know how to get rid of these damned things?!) then I select the files I wanna use... I then go to the sounds and notifications menu...but they don't show up in the list! Any ideas?
Guest raiderz Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 Drag your .wav's into the windows folder for MMS and Text alerts
Guest dazultra2000 Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 the "Windows" folder on the phone! Load activesync and click explore then click "My Pocket PC" Then "Windows" As a secondary question, what is the smallest/most efficient file format/compression that would suit this phone? I've discovered that an MP3 encoded wav file doesn't work, so so far I'm limited to PCM WAV audio, which is pretty hefty... any ideas for that?
